A new survey has revealed that Dumfries and Galloway is Scotland’s second most popular staycation destination this year. It says tourism bookings in Dumfries and Galloway are up 35% since 2019. The Scottish Borders had also been found to be the third most popular holiday spot in 2021. That means that the South of Scotland, taken as a whole, is the dominating force in the staycation market. With fantastic new experiences opening up across the South of Scotland including Trimontium Roman museum in Melrose, The Great Tapestry in Galashiels, ScottFest 21 at Abbotsford and the Galloway Hoard returning to Kirkcudbright soon we have a lot to build on as we launch our activity to extend the season in the South….
